Verbs are the core of the sentence: they reflect the meaning of the event and determine the structure of the sentence. This combination of lexical meaning and grammatical information makes verbs particular vulnerable for aphasic speakers with a lexical and/or grammatical impairment. In this talk I will discuss the role of verbs in sentence production and the consequences of an impairment in spontaneous speech and daily communication. Also, possible treatment methods will be presented.
